How do you install cork flooring on stairs?
1. Begin by measuring the stairs to determine how many cork planks will be needed. Add 10-15% for cutting and fitting.
2. If the stairs are not level, you may need to add a layer of self-leveling compound to the top surface, or use a combination of cork underlayment and self-leveling compound.
3. Cut the planks to fit the stairs before installing them.
4. Use construction adhesive to adhere the planks to the stairs, starting at the top and working your way down.
5. Once all of the planks are installed, use a finish nailer or finish nails to secure them in place.
6. Use a rubber mallet and tapping block to ensure that all of the planks are properly seated and secure.
7. Allow the adhesive to dry completely before sanding and finishing the floor with a urethane finish.
